GOSPELS OF July–selected..
July 26,’07-YOU DON’T HAVE TO WORRY WHEN YOU PRAY AND YOU RUN OUT OF WORDS. JUST BE WHERE YOU ARE. STAY IN GOD’S LOVING PRESENCE. WHEN WE’RE WITH OUR LOVED ONE,ONE WORDS SOMETIMES BECOME UNNECESSARY. TO BE INĀ HIS OR HER COMPANY IS ENOUGH. WE’RE FILLED,WE’RE MADE SECURE. WE’RE CONTENT KNOWING WE’RE TOGETHER.”
July 25,’07-’Be like the son of Man who has come not to be served but to serve and to give his life to redeem many.’ Jesus is the real Seeker, always looking for the least and lost, offering his hand to us first. Are we like this in our dealings with others? Or do we enjoy being waited on and made to feel important?
July 24,’07-Out of Egypt, God delivers the Israelites. Through their wanderings in the wilderness, He guides and provides for them. This is our own story too. God delivers us from what enslaves and destroys. He sees us through the dry, lonely times of our wastelands. We only have to follow His lead. Are you ready?
July 23,’07-We are constantly looking for signs. And the signs of God are everywhere: above us, behind us, besides us, beneath us. And we must not forget right WITHIN US. What signs in your life have spoken beautifully to you of God? Lord may I always see the signs You send me,specially what is beyond them.
July 20,’07-IN OUR HEARTS& OUR HANDS,WE ALWAYS CARRY SEEDSW/ US. LOOK CLOSELY. WHAT DO YOU SEE? ARE THEY SEEDS OF TRUTH,PEACE& LOVE?OR HATRED& GLOOM? OUR WORDS& ACTIONS SOW THESE SEEDS AROUND US. LET’S SIFT THROUGH ALL OF THEM. WHICH ONES ARE BETTER NURTURED? WHICH ONE DO WE NEED TO CRUSH?
July 19,’07-‘Come to me all you who work and carry heavy burdens and I will refresh you.’(Mt 11:28) Listen to the Lord as He desires to comfort you and ease your burden. What load in your life can He lift up now? When the journey has grown tiresome for you, pause on the roadside. Let your spirit find rest in Jesus.
July 18,’07-Sometimes listening to someone is all we can give. We have difficulty understanding the situation. We run out of words. Or simply don’t know what to say. In fact we don’t have to say anything, or anything deep. Our presence is all at that matters at thatĀ moment. It assures - and speaks much more!
July 17,’07-St.Ignatius of Loyola was a vain and ambitious man. He was very consciuos of his looks and honor. He wouldn’t surrender even if his troops were losing in a battle. Underneath all this, we see an undying devotion, a great passion.Look at your compulsions. God can use them to bring us back to Him.
July 12,’07-When Loneliness creeps in, our tendency is to run away from it. We try to keep ourselves busy. We look for company. But we do need time to be alone. It’s an opportunity to look within and be intimate with God. So instead of panicking, be still. Stay in his presence. Allow Him to fill your emptiness.
