God’s grace, limited gifts, presence and commandments
When something is finally in our hands and we lose it, we are sad and disappointed. We ask why it has to slip away from our grasp.
Perhaps it’s because we need to loosen up and let God give us some more of his blessings. For it is only when our hands are open that we can truly receive God’s grace.
April 29,’08 - Catherine of Siena was only 33 when she died. But she had helped restore peace among kings. She had persuaded the Pope to return to his rightful place in Rome. She had shared wisdom to many who came seeking consolation.
Our limited gifts bear much fruit when we allow God to work His wonders with them.
April 28, ‘08 - We experience our daily share of persecution. Often it’s from ourselves: our pains, struggles and sinful habits. But Jesus assures us that He will send us a Helper. This is the Spirit of Truth who keeps us from stumbling and falling away.

April 27, ‘08 - Whoever keeps my commandments is the one who loves me.’
It’s easy to ‘keep’ God’s commands by simply obeying rules and avoiding sin. But that’s not really loving but playing it safe. Ask yourself: ‘What more can I do to help?’ That’s when God’s commands truly keep us.
